Consumed- Hello! I know it has been a very long time since I posted on the blog. I am going to keep you posted via this blog about upcoming events that will be taking place in Consumed Youth Ministries,

July 21st- FUN NIGHT @ The Refuge, bring a friend for free food and lots of fun!!

July 25th- YOUTH NIGHT, This will be our monthly youth night service. God always does big things during this service!

July 31st- YOUTH RALLY- Consumed Youth Band and Drama Team have been invited to participate in an area wide youth rally in Hamilton. We will be praying around the courthouse as well as participating in an outdoor worship service. I encourage ALL of you to attend. This is a great opportunity to stand up for Christ! More details coming soon.

August 7th- This will be our 2nd Annual Back to School Bash! The theme for this years event will be ENCOUNTER! David James and Flashpoint will be leading us in worship. Each youth that registers will have a chance to win FREE prizes! Cost is $10 per person(including adults) and that includes a meal in between the afternoon and evening sessions(hamburger, chips, drink, ice cream). Afternoon session is 4-6pm and the evening session will be 7-10pm. DO NOT MISS THIS EVENT!!!!!!!

Consumed- Hey guys! I hope your Thanksgiving Holiday was a good one! We have a TON of things going on this month. Below you will find the date and times of all our events this month. DON"T MISS A SINGLE EVENT!!!!!!

Dec. 7th- Hackleburg Christmas Parade- The youth will be in this years parade. Meet at the church Monday Dec. 7th at 4:30pm. WEAR YOUR CONSUMED SHIRT AND AND SANTA HAT IF YOU HAVE ONE.

Dec. 9th- CONSUMED CHRISTMAS PARTY- We will have FOOD, FUN and GAMES!!! Bring a small gift (under $5) to the party to play a fun game!

Dec. 30th- CONSUMED YOUTH MINISTRIES AT THE RAMP- Meet at the Refuge at 5:30pm. I am looking forward to this AWESOME time of worship and the Ramp. I encourage each of you to attend and bring a friend. YOUR LIFE WILL BE CHANGED!! We will be back in Hackleburg by 10:30 pm.

Consumed- Hey guys, just a few dates that you may need to know. October is going to be a busy month! Stay posted to the blog for all the info you need. Continue to invite your friends to come on Wed. night, our services have been AWESOME!!!! I'm still the Youth Pastor of the BEST group of young people on the planet!! PD

Oct. 3rd- Youth Yard Sale, this will be a fundraiser for our upcoming trip to the OMEGA YOUTH CONFERENCE! It will be from 7am-12pm at the Refuge. I need all the youth attending the youth conference to come help out.

Oct. 9th-11th- OMEGA YOUTH CONFERENCE! Pigeon Forge, Tenn. We will be taking a charter bus with the Cliff Haven Church youth group. We will be boarding the bus at the Cliff Haven Church at 8:30am. We will need to leave the Refuge by 7:30. You will need money for lunch on Friday and lunch on Sunday. You will also need to bring ANY EXTRA SPENDING MONEY THAT YOU MAY WANT!

Oct. 16th- 5th Quarter, immediately following the Varsity home game vs. Marion County. There will be FREE FOOD, FUN and we will be giving away a FREE IPOD! All students, coaches, faculty, football players and cheerleaders are invited to attend!

Oct. 25th- Youth Night, our youth nights keep getting better and better. The youth band and the drama teams will be ministering.

Oct. 28th- Fun Night at the Refuge, invite your friend, you never know what crazy stuff we may do!

Oct. 31- Fall Festival, 5pm-7:30pm- There will be a TRUNK OR TREAT with LOTS OF CANDY, games for all ages, chili cook off and FREE FOOD! The youth drama team will be ministering and we will have some AWESOME PRIZES that you can register to win!

Consumed- Hey guys, hope all is well with you. I pray that each of you are making and impact in your school for Christ! Here are a few dates to remember for the next month or so. Don't miss a single event!

Sept. 11th- 5th Quarter, We will be hosting a 5th quarter at the church immediately following the home game against Parrish. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the food, fun and prizes.

Consumed-Hey guys, just wanted to update you on what's going on in Consumed for this month. It's hard to believe that summer is almost over and school will be starting soon. I hope you guys have had and AWESOME summer! I look forward to seeing each of you grow in Christ this school year. I believe that each of you have the ability to rock your schools for God! Here are some events that you don't wanna miss!

Back-to-School-Bash- Saturday, August 8th. There will be 2 sessions. The afternoon session will be from 4-6pm and the evening session will be from 7-9pm. We will be eating from 6-7pm. For $5 you can purchase a Hamburger,Chips, Drink and ice cream. Cliff Haven Youth Band will be ministering as well as an awesome group called Epic Dove. Area drama teams as well as our own from Hackleburg will be ministering as well. This event is designed to get you ready to impact your schools for God!YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT!!!!

Super Cool Sunday- Sunday, August 16th. There will be food and games for all ages. Ms. Tina and I(Pastor Dustin) have to get in the MUD PIT if we have 200 youth and kids here. Invite your friends to come have a blast at this event.

Youth Night- Sunday, August 23rd at 6pm. Every month our youth services just get better and better!

Fun Night- Wed. August 26th. Don't miss fun night, you never know what kinda crazy stuff we may do!

I want to encourage you not to miss a single one of these events this month. Invite your friends to come be a part of what God is doing in Consumed Youth Ministries!

Consumed- Hey guys just wanted to let yall know that the trip to Red Bay Water Park has been moved to Tuesday, July 14th instead of the 13th. The cost is $6 to get into the water park and whatever you may need for a fast food lunch. We will leave the church at 11:30 and be back to the church around 5:00. Can't wait to get back to Alabama. Consumed- Just wanted to pass along some info about our youth outing on Monday, July 13th. We will be going to Red Bay Water Park. The cost is $6 to get into the water park. You will also need money for lunch at a fast food place(most likely McDonald's). We will be leaving the church at 11:30am on Monday and returning that afternoon around 5pm. Consumed- Hey guys, due to the extreme heat and humidity we have been having lately we have changed some details involving our camping trip. We will be camping at Cedar Ridge Campground instead of Cane Creek Canyon. This will give us the chance to be near the lake and swim as much as we want. We will meet at the church at 10am instead of 9am as I originally posted on the blog. Below you will find a list of things you will need to bring with you for the camping trip. 2 towels
All toiletries- Soap, Deodorant, Shampoo, Toothbrush and toothpaste
Sun Screen(please bring extra if you need to, don't want anyone getting burnt)
Bug Repellent
Sleeping Bag and Pillow
Bathing Suit/Sunglasses
1 change of clothes for Saturday ( 1 small bag per person please due to room in vehicles)
Flip Flops for the swimming area and to use at the Bathhouse
Camp Chair (If you would like to have a chair of your own)

The campground has very nice bathhouse/ restroom facilities that have AC(THANK GOD!)

Collegiate Camp- May 31-June 6th(Ages 15-22)
Senior Camp- June 7th-13th(Ages 12-14)
1st Wed. Night for NEW YOUTH/Youth Fun Night- June 24th. Pool Party and Cookout at Joey and Lisa Stults. 6-8pm. Meet at church at 5:30 for those who need a ride. Parents need to be at the Refuge to pick up students by 8:30
JV/Varsity Camping Trip- June 26th-27th. Cost $10 per student. We will be camping at Cane Creek Canyon Nature preserve. Meet at the church Friday morning @ 9am. We should be home Saturday evening before 4pm.
New Youth Outing- Pastor Dustin and Mrs. Tina will be taking our 6 new youth out for a day of FOOD and FUN! More details to come.

Consumed- Well I have not updated the blog since Oct. 27th so I thought I might want to do that, haha. We are SO CLOSE to moving into our new facility. God is doing some awesome things at Hackleburg COGOP. Our youth ministry is growing and God is using the youth to reach this community for him! I want to say that I am the most BLESSED Youth Pastor in the world to get to pastor such an AWESOME group of young people. That being said, we are getting busier than ever in Consumed. I will try(please someone remind me) to update the blog on a regular basis as well as put a monthly youth calendar on here. So here we go!

Sunday Feb. 8th-JV and Varsity Small Groups bowling outing. Leave after morning service, 6 bucks for bowling plus whatever your lunch will cost.(Fast Food)
Thursday Feb. 12th- Seniors Valentines Banquet. ALL youth need to be there to help serve our awesome senior citizens.
Sunday Feb. 22nd- Youth Night, pm service. Consumed will be in charge of this service.

Consumed- Just wanted to share something that has been on my heart with yall. God has an awesome plan for this youth ministry. We are growing and God is sending us new people to minister to every week. Remember that as we grow the enemy will try and bring fear and doubt into our lives. This is his way of getting our eyes off of God and bring us down. I want to encourage each of you to seek Him in a deeper way. Pray, read the word and spend time with God. Remember that you are a chosen generation that God is raising up to take this world for Him and NOTHING can stop you. So much stuff going on I can't contain myself to even calm down long enough to write it! I keep hearing from Wynn and Janae about how awesome Collegiate Camp was. Mitch, Zach, Taylor, Ashton, Amanda, Halie (Cabin Leader), Josh & Karen (Team Comp) and I think I'm missing someone? Were with us at Senior Camp, and well, it was really good to. it was so good to "hang out" with them as well as watch how God transformed there lives through the week. Pastor Clint's message on Thusday night was incredible......I know I alot of kids were touched and changed by such a relatable word. Sofball Tournament Update

Josh and I had a staff meeting tonight on the phone. It seems that there is another co-ed soft ball tournament taking place this Saturday and is preventing us from getting enough teams. :( So we put our heads toether, we are tentatively rescheduling for July 19th, we believe this date will work better. Next Wednesday you will want to sign up to help with concession stand and field clean up.

Also, we scheduled a BBQ sale for June 17th, 4-7pm. We will be giving you tickets soon to sell!

Soooooooo.....we are gonna meet Saturday Morning for a Car Wash! YAY!!!! I love car washes...I will post the details as to our location tomarrow!

I remembered!

Hey guys I remembered what I was supposed to tell you! This Sunday Pastor Clint is ministering on Fasting, he has asked that the whole church join together in a corporate season of fasting. So, this Tuesday the whole church will be fasting together and we will end the fast by meeting at the church Tuesday night at 6:30pm for worship and communion. I would suggest that you guys join in and fast sweets, television or soft drinks. If you feel like you can fast your meals remember to drink healthy juices and water for the day.

Don't forget Saturday meet at the parsonage front porch at 9:00am. Bring a water bottle and I got your trashbags! Luv Ya see you then!!!!

Two Week Blitz!

The past two weeks in Youth Ministry have been so fun! Last week we had Pastor Dustin Atkins in to speak and hang out he was a hoot!!! But, such a good word to help us understand who Christ is to us! Also, this week Bro. Chucky Chandler is in for our revival! He was in our youth service last night.....how many of you know that you are important to God! On the side bar I am gonna post a new slide show of pics check them out!

You will want to be at Revival every nite this week at 7:00pm!

Also, This Sunday night is MOVIE NIGHT in the fellowship hall......come in decent, comfy Pj's bring comfy chairs or spleeping bags and look forward to a great time of movie & popcorn.......remember 5:30pm

Hello! The weather looks great, I think we are gonna be able to beat the odds and have a fun night without RAIN!!! Remember to wear your play clothes and be ready for some good fun and tuff competition. The schedule will be..........meet in the Youth Room for instructions at 7:00pm.

We will then head to the new land for a game of kick ball! An "art contest" will follow and then try your speed at a fun obstacle course! Snacks in the parsonage will end the evening.

Special prize! If you are the first person to come to me tonight and say "purple dotted egg" then you will recieve a prize!!!

What's Up?

Wow have we been busy for the past 5 months. Changes, Changes, lots of changes! We started by revamping our gatherings and organizing the youth ministry into small groups, Junior Varsity (6-9 grade), Varsity (10-12 grade) and College & Career. These small groups started meeting monthly. Rodney & Josh began interactive Wednesday night services for Youth gatherings weekly. About two months Pastor Clint & Liz began to meet with the Youth Staff to discuss beginning Youth Services Weekly. We have just completed our 3rd service, wow what a great time we have had. It has been different, but the excitement and momentum has been building! Speaking of building when our new church is completed, we will assume occupancy of the existing church building and turn it into the most rockin' Youth Church around.

CMT IS COMING TO HACKLEBURG!!!

We just received word that our youth won the CMT Homegrown Video contest! This means that CMT will come to Hackleburg and shoot, and possibly interview all of our youth. Congratulations to "Bucky" and the rest of the crew!

It's tough being a Christian student today. We're forced to make a lot of choices about who we are, and who we're not. We're supposed to be deciding on our future, when the present is hard enough to deal with.
We have a lot of dividing lines drawn for us. They're invisible, but we see them clearly every day. The grade we're in, the kind of grades we make, overachievers, underachievers, geniuses, slackers. The groups we hang with--jocks, preps, goths, sk8rs, gamers, or geeks. As a Christian, the church we attend, how we pray, the way we worship, and how we interpret the Bible. And yeah, even in 2007 race can still divide. Many of us are asking, "Where do I belong? Who cares about me? Why don't I fit in?"
See You at the Pole™ isn't about groups, grades, clothes, or churches. It's about praying. It's about all of us coming together and laying aside all the labels for one day, simply to call out to God, just as Jesus did in John 17 and say, "Lord, may we be one in you--whether jocks, preps, geeks, Pentecostals, Baptists, Catholics, freshmen, or seniors--may the world believe that You are real and have sent us to touch other through you, regardless of the dividing lines drawn by a broken world!"
So are you in? Are you ready whatever group you're in, to join us in the circle?

Please pray for Alexa West. She is a young woman of God. The Lord healed her last summer, and now the enemy is trying to shake her faith by bringing back the old symptoms. We must not stand for this! I urge you to join with Alexa and her family in reclaiming her healing. We are in spiritual warfare, and it's time to go to the front lines for one of our own.

Road Trip!

Please be in prayer for our young people (Consumed) as they travel. They are leaving Thursday afternoon going to Gatlinburg, TN. They will be white water rafting, as well as other things. The wonderful thing about this trip is that it is no longer viewed as a rafting trip, but as a prayer meeting. Last year, the Lord did amazing things, and the youth are expecting even greater this year. Please pray for their safety, and most of all pray that the Lord pours out His spirit.

Collegiate Camp

Wow! What an experience. The Lord blessed so greatly in collegiate camp this past week. Several of our young people attended, and some of our adults were a part of the staff. Everyone left forever changed.

Camping season has finally arrived! No, I am not talking about your typical caping experience with tents and bonfires. This is much different. The Church of God of Prophecy offers a special church camp program for children and youth. This is an amazing ministry. If you are a young person, I encourage you to go; or, if you have a child or know someone who might be intersted, please do your best to encouage them to go. Camp Boothe has helped to change the lives of several of our young people, and I know that the Lord will do the same for you if you will just meet Him there.

Schedule is as follows:

Big Shot Camp (3-5): Saturday, June 2
Collegiate Camp (15-22): Sunday, June 3-Saturday, June 9
Senior Camp (12-14): Sunday, June 10-Saturday, June 16
Discovery Camp (9-11): Sunday, June 17-Saturday, June 23
Pee-Wee Camp (6-8): Sunday, June 24-Wednesday, June 27

There is a tuition fee; however, if you have ever experience one of these camps, you will agree the cost is more than worth it.

Graduation

We would like to invite YOU to join in celebration with our graduates. We have four members graduating from high school. Charla, Halie, and Heather will graduate from Hackleburg High School. Their ceremony will be held at the high school gymnasium at 6:00p.m. on Thursday, May 24. Jordan will graduate from Russellville High School on Friday, May 25 (see Jordan for time and location).

Jordan Dollar

Jordan is a 2007 graduate of Russellville High School. She was named Salutatorian of her senior class. She has also received numerous athletic awards throughout the year.

Halie Lacey

Halie is a 2007 graduate of Hackleburg High School. She is Senior Class President and SGA President. She was named Valedictorian of her senior class. She has also recieved other academic, athletic, and miscellaneous awards.

Charla Walker
Charla is a 2007 graduate of Hackleburg High School. She is FBLA President. She has received many awards for her different talents.

Heather JohnsonHeather is a 2007 graduate of Hackleburg High School. She plans to attend Bevill State Community College where she will be a part of the dance team.

"Money"

"Money" is a common term called out at a backetball game when a player shoots the ball and it is guaranteed to go in. So, I guess now you can see the irony in our own Jordan Dollar advancing to the state finals for girls' 3pt baskets.

Jordan finished second in the state, only missing first by two baskets. This is a tremendous accomplishment we are very proud of you and love you very much Jordan!

Congratulations to Charla Walker, who won the public speaking competition at the TORCH competition at Bevill State Community College on Friday. She recieved a $1,000 scholarship for winning 1st place. Congratulations again Charla. We love you!

Dollar Ties State Record!

The most important thing in all of our youths' lives is certainly Jesus Christ. Everyone is very involved in our church activities. However, each has their own talents and lets their light shine for the Lord outside of our four walls too. On Feb. 2, Jordan Dollar tied a state record with 13 3-pointers, helping Russellville pound Colbert County 77-27. Jordan finished with a career-high 47 points while playing only 25 minutes. She also had 8 rebounds and 4 assists while recording the highest point total in the region this year. Her 13 3-pointers tied a state record held by Vestavia Hills' Heather Morris in 1995-96 and Fyffe's Heather Mayes in 1994-95. Congratulations Jordan! Your church family and youth group love you very much!

Halie Lacey and Heather Johnson performed at the talent show at Hackleburg High School this week. They played and sang "The Greatest Love Story Ever Told," which was written by Halie. It tells the story of the birth and death of Christ, then tells of the new life we can have in Him.

Christmas with Bucky

Due to the great success of the movie "Traveling with Bucky," we have decided to do a Christmas story starring the famous Bucky once again. There are hillarious new scenes and characters. We encourage everyone to come see this wonderful play at the Hackleburg Church of God of Prophecy on December the 17th. We would also LOVE to see you there at any other time. There are several schedules posted in other areas on the blog.

Service Project

We recently completed our first service project. Three of our young people (Jordan, Charla, and Halie) spent a few hours doing yardwork for Sister Betty and Sister Mary. Here are some pictures of the work that was done. (We only have after pictures; maybe in the future we will remeber to take both "before and after."

We picked up over 9 bags of leaves, branches, and plants. It was hard work, but we really enjoyed our time together. Special thanks to all of those who have worked so hard.

We are searching for MORE projects to do for our "JOY's." For those of you that don't know, that stands for just over youth, which in most places would be classified as seniors. If you think this image looks a little crazy, you are completely correct. Although this was not what we considered a "typical Sunday" it was one of the most fun and most memorable activities we have done as a youth group. You see, one of our members needed to film a video--well rednecks to the rescue! We took the audience on a "special tour" throughout Hackleburg. What emerged was what is now a very popular video amoung our fellow Hackleburgians--"Traveling With Bucky."
